What is the Liberatory Practice Space?
The Liberatory Practice Space was born out of our desire to meet this moment of global fullness with the sharing of space, breath, and witnessing. Within our collective, we seek to place medicine on our wounds while dismantling barriers to connection with our own and others’ humanity. The intention of this space is to tap into our creative collective genius and source ways to ground, recharge, and feel free. This is a monthly drop-in offering that is ever changing and responsive to the desires of participants in space.
Who is the Liberatory Practice Space For?
The Liberatory Practice Space is for Black People, Indigenous People, and People of Color (BIPOC). It is entirely free and open to all BIPOC interested in co-creating a brave and vibrant space that centers our unique and creative expression through embodiment, art, writing, storytelling and collective dreaming. Alumni participants of Healing Cycles of Harm or any other RooT offerings are also welcome to come through!
When does the Liberatory Practice Space Happen and Who is Facilitating the Space?
We will meet every Third Thursday from 4-6 PST / 7-9 EST starting on March 20th, the Spring Equinox. RooT Facilitators Gabby {G} Momah and Dominique Cowling will be designing and facilitating topic-specific drop-in monthly practices that meet the needs of what is emerging each month. RooT Facilitator Jennelle Ramdeen will be offering tech support and emotional support for the space.
What y’all got planned for the first gathering on March 20?!
Our first offering will center our collective rest as an act of resistance, an invitation to slow down, and an opportunity to be present with the body and each other. We will also talk about our dreams and desires for the space, other offerings happening at RooT, and leave room for folks to share their wishes for future gatherings together. Pull up!
